Save by returning materials now. This Library houses the oldest GLBT collection in Indiana. Over 4,800 items are in our large collection of books, periodicals and video tapes. Our archives hold local and regional GLBT history that ranges from articles and newsletters to pictures, t-shirts, buttons and more. The archives is precious history that would otherwise be discarded or hidden from view if it were not carefully kept and preserved in this library. We need your support! Donations to support the Library at this time are cucial for the preservation of our GLBT library in storage and for the library's future. Storage and moving costs have mounted up and will be required in the coming months. Please, won't you consider giving a tax-deductable gift of support so that this library will not be lost to our community? The library staff will not be welcoming donations of more material at this time. Library mission statement: The mission of the Up The Stairs Archives And Resource Library is to serve the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender community and their allies in the Fort Wayne and the surrounding area by acquiring, preserving and providing access to materials that embody the culture and history of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons, with a focus on items of local or regional interest whenever possible. Through sound management of resources our hopes are that the collection will contain the knowledge to dispel homophobia, encourage the exploration of diversity and promote personal discovery. Donations: As a UTSCC-sponsored group, the UTSCC Archives and Resource Library shares the center's 501(c)(3) status and donations are tax deductible.
